Tech pack

Also called: Technical package

The specification a factory makes a garment from: sketches, measurements, materials, trims, construction and labelling, in one versioned document.

A tech pack travels from the brand’s design team to the factory, usually as a PDF or a PLM export. It holds the flat sketches, the graded measurement chart, the bill of materials with fabric and trims, stitching and construction notes, and labelling and packing instructions.

It changes through sampling: a sleeve shortened after the proto, a collar changed after fit. Each change is meant to produce a new version.

Where it goes wrong

Changes agreed on fit calls or WhatsApp often reach the factory as a message, not a new version, so a unit cuts from the PDF it printed last week.

What Spurby does

Keeps every version with what changed and why, sends the latest to each factory on the style, and flags a unit still working from an old one.
