Issued for construction (IFC) drawings
Also called: IFC drawings, good for construction (GFC)
The revision of a drawing formally released for building, as opposed to drafts issued for review, tender or information.
Drawings move through statuses, such as issued for review, for tender and for construction, and each revision is recorded in a drawing register. In India, good for construction (GFC) is the common term.
Only the latest construction revision should be on site.
Where it goes wrong
Revisions announced in a chat while subcontractors work from emailed PDFs mean crews build to a superseded revision.
What Spurby does
Knows the current revision for every work package, and catches a crew, fabricator or bar schedule working from an old one.
