Call-off
Also called: Delivery schedule, schedule release
An instruction to a supplier to deliver a quantity on a date, released against a blanket purchase order.
Manufacturers often place one blanket order for a year and release call-offs weekly or daily as demand changes, through EDI, a portal or email. Suppliers plan production and transport against them.
Changes outside agreed windows can leave someone holding stock.
Where it goes wrong
Quantities pulled in or cut on a phone call don’t reach the supplier’s schedule, ASN or truck booking.
What Spurby does
Checks agreed dates and quantities against the supplier’s schedule and ASNs, and drafts the confirmation.
